DAVIDE ALOGNA
Born in Palermo, he graduated with honors both in violin and in main piano at the “G. Verdi ”of Como. With full marks, he also obtained the second level specialist biennium in solo violin at the Conservatory of Ferrara and he specialized in solo violin and chamber music Conservatory of Paris and at the CNR of Boulogne Billancourt, achieving the “Premièr Prix a l ‘Unanimité “. He studied composition with Luca Francesconi. He perfected himself under the guidance of Livia Baldi, Felice Cusano, Maryvonne Ledizes. He attended Giuliano Carmignola’s advanced courses at the Accademia Chigiana, who awarded him the honorary diploma, calling him “a great talent”. He carries out intense concert activity both as a soloist and as a chamber musician for various concert associations throughout Europe, Asia and America. He has collaborated with Natalia Gutman, Ėliso Virsaladze, Bruno Canino, Roberto Prosseda, Roberto Plano, Hakan Sensoy, Alessandra Ammara, Andrea Bacchetti, Irene Veneziano, Leonora Armellini, Vsevolod Dvorkin, Luca Provenzani, Giulio Tampalini, Massimo Laura and the Duo Bonfanti. He regularly holds solo concerts in some of the most important concert halls in the world such as Carnegie Hall in New York (Sala Stern), Berliner Philarmonie, Smetana Hall in Prague, Salle Cortot in Paris, Herkulesaal in der Residenz, Gasteig and Kunstlerhalle in Munich. He has collaborated, also as a first party, with prestigious institutions including the “Giuseppe Verdi” Symphony Orchestra of Milan, with the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, with that of the Municipal Theater of Bologna, with the Regional of Tuscany (ORT), with the Haydn of Bolzano. In 2009 he won the 1st overall prize in Paris at the “Prix Interpretation Musical” of the “Citè Universitaire de Paris” and by the INEM of Spain. In 2010 he was awarded the “Award for Excellence in Music 2010” by the Municipality of Milan. He was entrusted with a Stradivarius (1717) with whom he gave concerts for Telethon live on RAI 1, for the Council of Ministers and an integral of the Sonatas of Brahms in the U.S.A. He has recorded as a soloist and has been a guest of broadcasts for Radio Classica, Radio della Svizzera Italiana (RSI), RadioRai, Radio Toscana Classica, Radio Popolare. He has several solo CDs to his credit for the labels Brillant Classics, Velut Luna, Phoenix Classics and Amadeus. Amadeus magazine dedicated a CD cover to him twice (September 2013 and 2014) by publishing monographic CDs with music by Schubert and Respighi. He is in charge of editing the only commercial edition of the concert for violin and orchestra in A min. op 75 by Respighi for both orchestral material and piano violin reduction He teaches violin in Italy at the “F. Cilea” Conservatory of Reggio Calabria and at IMEP (Institut Superieur de Musique et Pedagogie) in Belgium. Davide Alogna plays on two instruments: a Cremonese “Gaspar Borchardt” from 1994 and a “Giuseppe Fiorini” violin from 1906.
